Our planet seems to agree on at least one fact, that New Year's needs to be a party. Across the globe, in the United Kingdom and in the U. S. the event is celebrated on January 1, the first day of the first month according to the Gregorian Calendar (officially declared New Year's Day in 1752 when bell ringing sent out the old year and merrymaking brought in the new one).
