Ibis
Around our beautiful, watery area, look for flocks of ibis. These are wetland birds with beautiful white plumage and curved beaks. They have long legs for wading and catching small fish and reptiles and are found inhabiting our coastal regions of the southeast U.S., as far south as Central America. Usually they travel in large flocks, responding quickly to habitat changes such as climate and food supply. Habitat loss is currently this beautiful bird's greatest threat.
