Our Beach in Winter
Winter's beach is far different from summer. Storms ravage the sandy shoals, taking sand to far off-shore places. Drying winds, salt spray, and freezing temperatures play havoc on the shoreline's plant life, too, further causing erosion when sand has nothing to cling to. Yet, life still flourishes there with plentiful shells and small crabs and snails tucked under seaweed and larger shells. Other interesting tidal organisms lurk there, making winter a shore walker's paradise!
