Cherry Grove Pier

Reel in your next big catch here.

The Cherry Grove Pier was built in the 1950's and has been owned by the Prince family since 1965. The pier was remodeled in 1999 after Hurricane Floyd. Cherry Grove Pier is the only privately-owned pier in North Myrtle Beach with a two-story observation deck. The Cherry Grove Pier provides fishing fun for the whole family.

Plan Your Fishing Trip

Bring the Right Bait

Use fresh bait and change it regularly to increase the number of fish you catch. Use the following bait for best results: Mullet, Shrimp, Squid, Live Bloodworms, Artificial Bloodworms and Chicken Necks. Use ample weight on your line when bottom fishing to combat the current and tide conditions.

Practice with the Pros
Watch the pros fish. Ask professionals in the tackle shop how fish are biting and what bait to use. For your convenience, a tackle shop is located at the pier. Show family and friends your fishing skills, then teach them how to do it.

Enjoy "Take a Kid Fishing," where one child is free per paying adult.

Participate in the spring "King Mackerel Tournament" at the Cherry Grove Pier.

Keep it Quiet
Keep voices, music and noises low. Sound travels through the water and can drive fish away.
