Great Christmas Light Show

Looking for lights? Take the family to The Great Christmas Light Show at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. It is just minutes from Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach. Drive through whimsical displays of color and enjoy festive music. Browse Santa’s Village and try synthetic ice skating. Take a mini-train ride or brave the Go Ape Lighted Tree Top Adventure.  Sip on hot chocolate and roast marshmallows. Don’t forget to check out the petting zoo. Guests of Avista Resort may purchase discounted tickets at the front desk. Admission may also be paid at the gate. The light show runs nightly through Dec. 31 but is closed Christmas Day.

Looking for elegance and natural beauty? Check out Brookgreen Gardens’ Nights of a Thousands Candles.  It’s worth the 1-hour drive from the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet. The expansive gardens are transformed into a magical winter wonderland.  Nature is illuminated with the glow of more than 5,500 candles and thousands of Christmas lights. Massive oaks sparkle. Still waters reflect beautiful imagery. Statues take on new life under the glow. Dine on southern favorites like fresh seafood, BBQ, and more catered by Inlet Affairs.  Sip on cider or hot chocolate as you stroll through the gardens. The Christmas Show of the South

The Carolina Opry Christmas show first debuted more than three decades ago. This year, producer and owner Calvin Gilmore launches a reunion season that marries old-time favorite cast members with new talent. More than 35 vocalists and musicians take to the stage with the theatre’s orchestra and amazing dancers. A highlight of the show is a genuine horse-drawn carriage and snowfall. An attraction you won’t want to miss for its beautiful sea creatures, touch tank, and amazing exhibits is Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. During the holiday season, more than 70 themed Christmas trees find a temporary home at the Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. Adding to the fun is that each of the 50 states is represented by a tree. The family can participate in a fun scavenger hunt to brush up on their knowledge of the 50 states.  Admission to the Festival of Trees is free with aquarium admission.

Legends in Concert’s

Ultimate Christmas Spectacular

Myrtle Beach’s Legends in Concert wows audiences with their Ultimate Christmas Spectacular. Enjoy holiday classics and modern tunes performed by top tribute artists. Tributes to stars such as Nat King Cole, Dolly Parton, the Blues Brothers, and Elvis Presley bring on the holiday cheer. The Legends band performs “Christmas Eve in Sarajevo” in tribute to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Legends dancers put on a high-energy performance you are sure to remember.
