Why June is the Best Time to Visit North Myrtle Beach

If you're still undecided about when to come to the coast for that much needed beach vacation, we recommend the month of June. It's the month that offers the best of everything! The weather is gorgeous in June as the heat of the summer hasn't arrived just yet. And it's not quite as busy as it would be mid-summer during the busy peak season!

MUSIC ON MAIN CONCERT SERIES

Come to downtown North Myrtle Beach to listen to live music from a new band each week or shop with the family. These happen every Thursday night on Main Street, 202 Main Street, North Myrtle Beach, SC. Be sure to bring with you a beach chair or blanket to sit and enjoy some quality time with the family as you dance the night away. Here is the list of Bands for the month of June:

  • June 1st - The Entertainers
  • June 8th - Chairmen of the Board
  • June 15th - Southside Saints
  • June 22nd - Catalinas
  • June 29th - Rivermist
Movies at McLean

Every second Friday of each month from June through October where you and your family can watch a movie under the stars. Each movie will begin at 7:00 pm and will feature a G or PG family-friendly movie at the North Myrtle Beach Parks & Sports Complex. Don't forget to bring either a towel, blanket or beach chair to watch the movie as well as some cash to purchase refreshments. Here is a line up of the movies that will be playing in 2023:

  • May 12th - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
  • June 9th - An American Tail
  • July 14th - Beethoven
  • August 11th - Lilo & Stitch
  • September 8th - Paddington
  • October 13th - Hotel Transylvania: Transformania
SOUNDS OF SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Another great concert series that is returning for 2023 is the Sounds of Summer. This is held every third Friday of the month starting in June and ending in September. This is held over at the North Myrtle Beach Parks & Sports Complex. Bring a beach chair or blanket to sit and enjoy some amazing music for the whole family to enjoy. There will be snacks and drinks to purchase as they don't allow coolers, food or drinks from the outside, so plan accordingly. Let's check out what bands are coming this summer below.

  • June 16th - Don't Stop Believing (A Journey Tribute Band)
  • July 21st - Swinging Medallions "Since 1962"
  • August 18th - Paul Grimshaw Band - (A Tribute to Van Morrison and James Taylor)
  • September 15th - Karen as Dolly (A Dolly Parton Tribute)
FIREWORKS AT BAREFOOT LANDING


If your family is on the hunt for fireworks on the beach, then look no further. Head on over to Barefoot Landing where you can see a wonderful fireworks show every Monday beginning June 5, 2023 at 10:00 pm. Before the show starts, grab a quick bite to eat or do a little shopping before you head home from vacation. The fireworks will end in September and from there will only happen a few times in the winter months.
